from
L. Lawrence Weber's Musical Farce Little Jessie James. The play
opened at New York's Longacre Theatre on August 15, 1923 and ran for 453
performances. For
the first time in theatrical history, a dance orchestra supplied the music from
the pit, and this band was the nucleus for the Harry Archer Orchestra.
